Benton's Sugar Shack - Thornton, NH

A quaint New England setting nestled in a beautiful valley surrounded by wonderful vistas of the surrounding mountains.  The Sugar Shack itself is home to the best breakfast around!  Our tours run from Mid October to mid April (depending on temperature and weather).  Our wheeled tours provide a great opportunity to experience our Fall training of our sled dog teams.  Learn how we get them ready for our tours and races.  As soon as the snow flies, we transition to sleds by which time the dogs are in great shape and raring to go!  You'll get to experience how our teams work and run together, take it in turn to lead the way and sometimes its a race back to the trucks!

Wheeled Tours Start Mid-October until we have enough snow for sleds.

SUGAR SWEET
Come and join us experience how we train our dogs for the upcoming winter season of tours and races.  We'll show you our gear, harnessing  dogs, some necessary foot care and other considerations, stand with our leaders while we hook up or take as many photos as you wish and watch what we do. Then hop on our four wheelers with us and experience the pull and the power of our teams.  We do lots of passing on the trail, watch the teams line out and listen carefully to our quiet instructions.  This experience is best suited to adults and children over the age of 11 years.  Our early season training runs will be approximately 30-45 minutes on the trail plus time at the truck getting gear ready, teams ready, hooking up and setting off along with off loading dogz from the ganglines, snacking and watering. Please allow about 1 1/2hrs for the total learning experience.  $99 per guest/rider

THE FULL MONTY 'SOUP TO NUTS'

Enjoy a training run with us on the back of our four wheelers while our strong teams pull us around our scenic trails. Follow us back to our homestead for a kennel tour and some down time with the dogz in their play areas and finish off with a hearty late lunch. This tour option can accommodate up to 3 people. Most suited to guests over the age of 14 years. Allow approximately 4 hours for the whole experience. Some weight/height restrictions may apply.  $299 per person
